Meet Joanne Morales Bembinster, Ed.S.

Joanne Morales Bembinster is a higher education leader, educator, and student success advocate with more than ten years of experience supporting students and helping to create meaningful, student-centered experiences. As the Director of Academic Success at Stetson University, Joanne leads initiatives focused on academic advising, tutoring, student support services, and retention strategies that empower students to thrive both academically and personally.

A proud first-generation college graduate and bilingual first-generation Colombian -American, Joanne's own educational journey fuels her passion for ensuring that every student feels understood, supported, and equipped to achieve their goals. She believes that student success happens through intentional relationships, equitable practices, and a deep understanding that every student's path is unique.

In addition to her leadership role, Joanne served as an instructor in Stetson University's Master's in Higher Education Administration program and teaches courses in Professional Communications and First Year Seminar: Latinx Experience & Identity. She is also the advisor to the Tri-Alpha First-Generation Honor Society and the Latinx Student Union, where she mentors students and creates opportunities for leadership, belonging, and personal growth.

Throughout her career, Joanne has been dedicated to helping strengthen student success, retention, and engagement through innovative programs, collaborative partnerships, and relationship-rich practices. Whether leading campus initiatives, presenting at conferences, or partnering with colleges and universities, her mission remains the same: to create environments where students feel empowered to discover their potential and persist toward their dreams.
